Let’s start with the facts…………. I. Loved. This. Book.!!
I love, love, love Alex Avery from his “put that sexy little shit on the phone” to the “you’ve just thrown down a challenge that I’m more than willing to accept if you want to play. But know this, I play to win.”
I love Angel with her “did you leave money on the nightstand as you blew through the bedroom?” and her “Mmmm….we’ll see. Buckle up boys”
Their snarky, ball busting banter had me laughing out loud. Their chemistry had me melting into a big pile of goo. The level of angst as they fought, and fought, and fought their feelings for one another had me fisting my hands in my hair and wanting to scream. The fierceness with which Alex wants to protect Angel melted my heart. The way Angel fights her attraction/feelings to not lose herself and who she is left me torn. On the one hand….I totally get it…….yet I, so badly, wanted her to jump head first and just go for it.
Once again, Kahlen Aymes has flawlessly written the beginning of a love story with characters so strong, so beautiful, so captivating, you will fall in love with them as easily as you did with Ryan and Julia and The Remembrance Trilogy. And it wouldn’t be a Kahlen Aymes romance without the fantastic “off the charts” level of angst that only she can deliver, and you will definitely be left wanting more, more, more!!! I find myself excited by the anticipation of what’s to come for Alex and Angel and while spring will be here before you know it, the wait for me will seem endless. ~ 5 ~ “I’m right here” ~ Stars
